Tips and Tricks to Quiet the Mind and Be in the Body
When Your Mind is/Thoughts are Running
Envision the inside of your head cavity is covered with gunk. Envision someone (a person, elf, fairy, or no one) cleaning the inside of your head by washing it with a brush/sponge and soap and water and the dirty water flowing down a drain straight down a tube to Mother Earth for re-cycling and filtering. Then envision squeegeeing the inside walls of your head cavity sparkling clean.
Lie on your side with one ear facing down. Envision all the thoughts in your head being caught up in a whirlpool and draining out of the ear facing down until the inside of your skull looks/feels empty.
Think of a word that you want to embody. Hold a necklace with beads, or mala beads, or a rosary and repeat that word over and over again as you move from one bead to the next. When you get to the last bead from where you began, reverse this practice and do it again until you meet the first bead you started on. Do this as long as you need and is helpful. I have fallen asleep doing this.
Open your mouth and begin making sounds, any sounds. Move your lips and tongue and mouth around to make any sounds you feel, as if you are speaking a new language no one knows or singing a new song in a new language that no one knows. Feel the reverberations in your mouth and body and concentrate on that and that feeling and how curious it is. Feel free to giggle or smile with yourself as you play and dance in this way.
Deep belly breathing all the way to your perineum and/or even holding your breath for long periods and letting it all the way out to clear some space.
Envision a rain storm moving over your head and the water drips through you, gathering up all the gunk in your body and bringing it down through your feet into Mother Earth. Think of the rainwater hitting all channels where blockages are and clearing them and creating more space in your body. Exhale a sigh with that new space. Envision the sky and rain clearing and a rainbow forming. Envision that rainbow hitting every aspect of the inside of your body where the rain hit and sparkle off the wet spaces with different colors and golden light, and bask in that feeling and those colors. Carry the rainbow with you into your day, evening, and beyond.
Put on music you don't normally listen to and encourage and make your body move in different ways that are not "normal' to you. Giggle with yourself and do even more dramatic movements to create new space and feeling within the body. Get weird with yourself.
